Here is another site that I stumbled upon a few weeks ago. The player is contained in the web browser and is relatively small. There is a decent number of shows, sometimes accompanied by blog style commentary.

Babelgum competes directly with Joost but did not appear to have as much content when I tried it. I will give it another try in the future.

This player needs no introduction or explanation. More than a player, it is a free and extensible media tool that supports numerous formats.

DivX Player

Besides the player and converter, the Stage6 site from DivX hosts great HD content. Be sure to check out the Star Craft 2 trailer in HD.

Zoom Player

I downloaded Zoom Player after I was unable to play some 1080p files with VLC. In addition to playing the previously unplayable files, the player seems to offer smoother playback for many files.

WMV-HD Showcase

This was the first place I went to test our HD TV. There are some samples, mostly up-sells for WMV-HD discs. There is 720p and 1080p content available in relatively small files.

The AC3 filter is needed for playback of some HD content. You may already have it installed if you are experience with internet video content.
